Praising TCC I must be sick
It warms me strangely that I should give praise to TCC, but it seems that even though I continue to have humoungous headaches with that wanna be care-ing company the're actually headed in the right direction (although I didn't really think I needed it)
If you've read your papers you'll have found out that TCC is expanding their little wireless antennaes all over the place, while at the same time they've introduced a pay on the ATM thing for the phone bills so instead of queuing at the TCC offices you can queue at the ATM, out in the sun while its getting into summer
Now I'm not a whiner (it sure sounds like it) but some of these advances have seemingly weird value propositions for me as a customer.
On the MOBILE front I had a weeks failure on my mobile with Tonfon so I was really pushing whether I'd get a TCC number. Unfortunately, the main reason why I need to get my mobile working is because TCC couldn't pull their finger out to come and fix my phone line.
Let's see if this isn't an uncommon scenario for ya'll telecommuters in Tonga.
TCC Landline goes bad at home, nothing on the line not even static. Fine, call the care-ing company and they'll fix straight away (in your dreams.) Call TCC, problem line girl says she'll log the problem but we probably wont get anyone until tomorrow. OK, wait until end of tomorrow, call TCC. Sorry, the girl who takes the reports isn't in, leave message, go through details again. Wait until tomorrow. Call TCC, line men have been contacted someone will be over immediately, wait until Tomorrow.
After two weeks of tomorrows we finally get the phone number for the linesmen. OK, to keep a story short, we go through the same scenario with the linemen for the next week.
Wouldn't know it, after the line gets fixed we get THREE phone calls from the care-ing company to check whether our phone line works. Well, duhhhh, ya wouldn't be talking to us if the line wasn't working. And duhhhhh, we have to be grovelling and thankful that they deemed it worthy of their time to finally get the thing up.
WAIT aren't we going to say something nice .
Oh yeah, Tonfon decided to do some sort of upgrade on their telephone so my mobile got zapped and wouldn't call out. I could take calls on it, but I can't call out. If only the care-ing company could have had my land line up by the end of the 2nd week, I would have junked my Tonfon and gotten their mobile service, but alas my mobile finally worked (had to take the simm card out, insert it in another phone, then put it back.
hoi poloi
Paying your phone bills through the ATM sounds like a great idea, but I've never had real problems with the TCC queue as there is with the Shoreline Electric Bill queue. Much of it is just due to the fact that more people have electricity than a telephone. Strange though, 'cause I've never really queued to pay the water and I think they have similar numbers to the electricity ?
Go figure.
