It finally happened. All the navel gazing came to a halt and we've gone ahead and put up our own little Cybercafe here in the Kingdom of Tonga.
So, if you wander around while in Tonga and need to get your email fix, drop by and login with us.
Of course, we're trying to make a profit with the afe.to ANTS so that's off to another site, another location from the NoMOA free service.
We are online at
www.afe.to and would be pleased to meet you physically at the FWC Business, Fanga-'o-Pilolevu, Tongatapu.
We are putting little posters up around Tongatapu, so hopefully you can see a nice map pointing you how to get here.
With the Internet Cafe we give you the standard Internet Services and we also offer local businesses the chance to own their own domain name and virus protected email.
Internet Cafe
This should be operational in a couple of days. We've leased a dedicated line from TCC, which has finally been put through and will have six machines available in the interim while we look for more space.
The machines will have the latest office productivity tools as well as latest Internet browsing tools (browsers, plug-ins, etc.) We're also going to test how feasible it will be to have the latest games on the machines and see how many people we can get onto gaming machines.
We will be offering lower prices than TCC and other Cybercafe's in town. Our introductory package will be $5.00 an hour (with minimum 15 minute increments, i.e. $1.00) and we will have different rates for different types of useage. We will have different rates for those who just need to use a computer with the latest software (e.g. PageMaker, Photoshop, Microsoft Office) to those wanting to play games (Quake III, Castle Wolfenstein, Age
of Empires II, etc.)
We will also be offering lower rates during 'off-peak' periods. Although we haven't run so have not isolated the off-peaks from peak periods.
Email for Businesses
We're essentially commercialising the work we've done for Tupou High School, Tonga High School, Tupou College, and QSC.
We're selling companies the know how to build and maintain their own email servers. We can host their email off-shore and wait for their machines to
dial up (locally or through kalianet) and exchange the emails.
We can also set up web mail connectivity so all members of an organisation can access email without the need for a dedicated machine (i.e. do not need to use Outlook Express or similar programs.)
Businesses have a choice of using existing hardware for their mail server, or we can build a totally new solution for them.
Clients control their email accounts, they can create, disable, or remove accounts as they need.
The advantage we offer, is not only client control of their own email service, but our system will automatically vet all emails for viruses automatically. We are doing this as a standard service for all email clients.
