Today was the final day for cleaning up, touching up, and getting that key back to the Principal. Petani was officially handed back to the school and weary bodies are recovering tonight from the mad rush work of the past month as well as the crazy runs of the past week to make sure everything was better than good enough.
We had not hoped for an official opening of the work, and had always planned on just handing the keys to the Principal to do with the work as she so chooses.

Through an extremely fortunate twist of fate, your Class of 1990 were honoured to have the Chair of the Queen Salote Ex-Student's Working Committee, Princess Nanasipau'u Tuku'aho, officially recieve the key to re-open Petani for use by teh school.

Our beloved Mele Kilisimasi 'Unga hapai the key to the Princess as well as introduce the work the class had contributed to the facility. How Sesilina squirmed herself into the lounge, no-one knows.

As you can see from the previous Photos, either the princess was putting up a strong public face, or she really did enjoy and appreciate the work that had gone to the upgrading at Petani.
The Princess's words of encouragement were lapped up by the class as some were moved to tears (we're not quite sure whether that was fatigue related or someone's skirt was too tight [vakai ki he kau kei kumii].) The Princess acknowledged the hard work of the Class of 1990 as well as two important things.
1. Kuo kamata'i 'e he fakaava 'o Petani 'a e Katoanga, whether intended or not, but the festivities have begun.
2. Kuo kamata'i 'e he Class of 1990 'a e uki mo fakamafana'i 'a e ngaahi to'u kehekehe lahi ke nau mafana mai ma'ae Kolisi ko Kuini Salote.

We are very thankful for the Class of 1971 who came to the opening and showed that this was not the work of the Class of 1990, but the work of Queen Salote's Ex-Students, for the students.
